Hurricane Sandy

The second most costly hurricane in US history, Hurricane Sandy, hit the eastern seaboard on October 29th, 2012. The resulting flooding of streets, tunnels, and subway lines cut power throughout the region. Within two days Metro Power had mobilized a contingent of their most experienced workers to aid in restoring power to affected areas. Cooperating with other contractors from our region a convoy was organized to reach these areas. Metro Power itself was involved in the restoration of power in Massachusetts and New York. Stationed at the Nassau Coliseum Metro Power was directly responsible for the restoration of electricity across Long Island.
